ABOUT NETSOUND

Let there be sound

Established in 2009, Netsound is the industry leader for sound in Northern California. We’ve become the king of the wedding industry, appearing with our DJ service, Photo Booths, sound and lighting, in well over 100 weddings this year alone. Thanks to hundreds of satisfied customers and great referrals, we have doubled almost every year for 7 years straight.

Anderson’s famed Mosquito Summer Serenade never looked back after hiring us in 2009 and now we coordinate that series as well as run live sound there — ask the more than 70 bands what they think of Netsound. We’re in our 5th season downtown Redding at the Market Street Fair, 5th year at Kool April Nites, 4th year on production at the Hilton Hawaiian multi-ballroom ITN conference and this year’s ITN conference at the Fairmont in San Jose. We’ve handled hundreds of weddings, dozens of talent shows, Redding’s Sundial Festival, the 4th of July Freedom Festival and July 3rd event in neighboring Anderson, a score of Reggae festivals and many a winery event. This year the “Think Pink” Committee chose us to light the Sundial bridge pink and we’re regularly chosen by over a dozen companies to host their company party at the end of the year as well as dozens of schools choosing dances and proms.

Other clients include: Simpson University, Bethel Church, California Welcome Centers, Sierra Pacific Industries, Far Northern Regional Center, Mercy Medical Center Dignity Health, the Shasta Wine Village, Viva Downtown, The Silicon Valley Chamber of Commerce and many more. If you want a professionally executed event using state of the art equipment, Netsound is the clear choice.

Meet the Crew

Jon Thompson

Jon Thompson

Founder

Hear more about me.

Jon has been in music and sound since his youth. He co-founded a pop/rock band in Argentina in 1988 that is traveling worldwide today. He married his Argentine sweetheart in ’92 and settled in NorCal. After 12 years on staff as music & youth director at a local church, Jon started a successful non-profit that connected city leaders and local citizens in strategic volunteerism and service opportunities. Part of that non-profit included a mobile music team with sweet gear. This lead to NETSOUND. Acquiring many trusting relationships with the movers and shakers of the region, following through responsibly with contacts & service, plus providing much needed pro service of sound and lights laid a foundation for a successful company.

Jon Culp

Jon Culp

Audio Engineer

Meet Jon Culp. He is one of the best live sound engineers in our region. He has been in live sound for over 20 years. He got his start with Bethel Church back in the day and mixed week in and week out at the Stirring church for over a decade. When he’s not doing appraisals or hanging with his lovely family, Jon is going to soccer matches and joking around with friends. Jon is accomplished on the Yamaha LS9 digital board as well as our Midas M32’s and all analog boards. He specializes in creating that warm fat sound bands & crowds crave. Jon mixed for Mosquito serenade almost the entire 2011 season and everyone loved him. He often fills in for Jon Thompson when he is elsewhere. Kool April Nites trusts him with their top acts each year and bands love his laid back approach and service with a smile. He always does great work. He sweats and bleeds for the job and spends himself to get it done in style. We like to hire optimists who don’t let you down, people who know a lot but don’t have to talk your ear off to prove it. Jon will no doubt be seen at the shows mentioned above and our newly acquired gigs with local high schools and college drama departments. You will be in for a treat seeing him do his thing!
